What is Big-Data ?

Big data is a term that describes the large volume of data — both structured and unstructured — that inundates a business on a day-to-day basis. But it’s not the amount of data that’s important. It’s what organizations do with the data that matters. Big data can be analyzed for insights that lead to better decisions and strategic business moves.

“Over 2.5 quintillion bytes of data are created every single day, and it’s only going to grow from there. By 2020, it’s estimated that 1.7MB of data will be created every second for every person on earth.”

To explain more about big-data take some example of big companies like — FaceBook, amazon, Google etc..

If we talk about facebook than facebook store more than 500+ TB Data every single day. and also stores data in various way that is given below..

→ And if we talk about amazon than They host their estimate 1,000,000,000 gigabytes of data across more than 1,400,000 servers. amazon have highest server in in the world.

→ If we talk about how much order amazon placed in one single day then as Per Business Insider — Amazon averaged 306 transactions per second at their peak in 2012. That’s 26.5M transactions per day.

→ If we talk about google than Google doesn’t hold the biggest of data centers but still it handles a huge amount of data. A data center normally holds petabytes to exabytes of data. Google currently processes over 20 petabytes of data per day through an average of 100,000 MapReduce jobs spread across its massive computing clusters

→ If we go with google search than Google now processes over 40,000 search queries every second on average, which translates to over 3.5 billion searches per day and 1.2 trillion searches per year worldwide.

How Big MNCs manage their Data..?

If we think about the problem of data then it’s nothing but itself that is known as Big-Data.

Now then what is the solution for this big-data problem…

We have many tools and technologies that is available at present time that can solve this big-data problem issue some of example are Distributing storage, Hadoop etc..

So we can in simple way that almost all the big MNCs use distributing storage or Hadoop to manage their data.

Hadoop
